Healthy Families 5K Run/Walk

We held our inaugural Healthy Families 5K Run/Walk fundraiser at Beardsley Park in November of 2014.  Funds raised at this event help support the mission of our League and our community outreach projects. The fourth annual Run/Walk will be held in Spring of 2018.

Healthy Families Dinner Series

In January 2015, we launched our newest signatures program,

“The Healthy Family Dinner Series”. This program is a collaboration between the Norma Pfriem Urban Outreach Initiative, The Center for Family Justice, and The Bridgeport YMCA. Families meet twice a month where they participate in activities that incorporate elements of literacy, exercise, and making healthy food choices while preparing a meal to eat together. All aspects of this program are designed to meet the goals of our “Healthy Families, Healthy Futures” initiative.
