The JLEFC has initiated a new partnership in 2008 with the Thomas Hooker School, which maintains 500+ students in grades K-8 and is located on Roger Williams Road in Bridgeport.

The School Partnering Committee works with the school principal and advisory board to determine the needs of the school and how our members may be able to help. In the past, we have provided  the purchase and installation of an outdoor basketball court, ice cream socials for students of the month, beautification days including planting bulbs and painting, organizing a field trip to the Butterfly Atrium at the CT Audubon, participating in monthly Read Alouds and collecting new and gently used books.

This year, Thomas Hooker has requested and we are eager to provide a Self Esteem/Role Model seminar for girls in 7th and 8th grade. The school is also excited to be a part of the Junior League's Annual Art Show, in which some of the children's art work will be displayed.
