In keeping with tradition, the Junior League of Eastern Fairfield County held a donation drive at its annual Holiday Tea. This year, League members were asked to donate an outfit for ages 3-5 to benefit the children of the South End YMCA in Bridgeport. The League’s generosity brought an overwhelming number of outfits, which were given to the students at the JLEFC-hosted Winter Party for the South End Y. There were plenty of outfits to go around as well as some additional clothing that will be given to incoming students in January. The Junior League of Eastern Fairfield County hosted the Winter Party for the South End Y students on December 17th. Members of the League volunteered to create a fun and festive environment for the children and kicked off the party with an adorably-appropriate afternoon snack to set the mood – a delicious cupcake topped with a snowman. After the snack, volunteers passed out the League-donated clothing to each child. The party was capped off with some creative activities such as a snowball toss, ice fishing, a winter maze, face painting and snowman crafts. The children presented the Junior League with two (one from each class) large handmade "thank you" cards, sweetly decorated with their hand prints and names.
